We built a house and moved to American Fork! We moved in at the beginning of April, right before Easter. We love it here. We have great neighbors and we love being closer to everything.
Here's a pic of the outside that was taken probably about a week before we moved in. I haven't taken pictures of the inside yet, so sorry to all of you who have been asking to see pics! I'll take some of the inside and do another blog post after I get all caught up on the last few months of our lives on here.
Our house number is blurred out, for obvious reasons. :)
There's a row of tall trees that lines our lot on the left side. They now have their leaves on them and we love them! It's one of our favorite things about this lot. They provide some nice shade in the later part of the day. I'll take a new pic of the outside with the trees in it and post it in the next house pictures post.

Maple Syrup, Anyone?
These shoes of David's HAD TO GO. They needed to go a LONG LONG time ago. He wore them almost everyday ... and he kept insisting they were just fine and refused to buy a new pair of shoes.
Well, I decided it was time to take matters into my own hands.
I decided one morning that I was going to destroy these shoes, so they were no longer wearable. How? Maple syrup.
I chased him around the house with maple syrup, tackled him to the ground, grabbed onto his legs so he couldn't walk out the door. I was DETERMINED. Allyson joined in on the fun and decided to start pouring the maple syrup on his clothes ... somehow I think she missed what the objective was ... lol.
He managed to escape the house and I chased him down the street in my pajamas with the maple syrup bottle in my hand ... and then I had an idea.
I turned around and went back in the house and hurried and got his bosses phone number off of his phone.
After he left for work I texted his boss and told him I needed him to destroy David's shoes so they were unwearable and to use any force necessary to do so. And I told him when he was done to tell David to buy him lunch.
With the personality his boss has, I figured doing something like this would be quite entertaining for him. And in turn would help me out.
Ya, I'm kind of mean sometimes.
I got in contact with one of his other coworkers, too and we started trying to come up with a plan.
Ends up David came home to pick something up later on in the day, so his co workers didn't need to do anything. I played it cool and acted like I didn't really care about his shoes anymore and told him Katelyn had stuffed the toilet full of toilet paper upstairs and I asked him if he could take care of it. He left his shoes in the mud room and went upstairs. While he was up there, I covered his shoes with maple syrup inside and out.
hehehehe >:D
He's been buying the same style shoe since before I met him 8 years ago. I tried to encourage him to try a different style, but he refused.
He went online and ordered the same exact shoes through Zappos. lol
Well, at least they're white, instead of yellow and they don't have holes in them and they don't smell ... yet.
Kyler's First Haircut
Kyler got his hair cut for the first time back in April. He did so good!! The hair dresser was even impressed.
He looks so handsome!!
He looks so handsome!!
Boyce Avenue Concert SLC
Boyce Avenue is David's favorite band in the whole wide world. The girls and I are pretty big fans, too. We frequently find Allyson and Katelyn sitting on the couch with the ipad watching their music videos and playing their music and singing along. It's pretty cute. As soon as we found out they were coming to Salt Lake City for a concert, we bought tickets to go. The concert was the night of Kyler's 1st birthday, March 17th. We had a birthday party at my mom's house and then she kept the kids for the night so we could go party! ... he would be asleep at the time of the concert anyway, so we didn't feel too bad about going on the day of his birthday.
We had VIP passes to go to a meet and greet with the band members before the show. David was so concerned about getting there to pick up our VIP passes, that he wouldn't let us eat dinner before we went cause "there's no time!!" We were the first ones in line and ended up standing in line FOR.EV.ER before they even passed out the VIP passes. lol
My husband, the groupy. ;)
Something about paying money to meet someone feels a little awkward to me, but David loved every minute of it ... he'd of paid double to do it all over again (which he probably will someday very soon).
A little over a year ago, I surprised David with a plane ticket to Arizona to go and see Boyce Avenue with his brother at a concert they were doing at a place called, "The Deuce". I was uncomfortably 8 months pregnant with Kyler at the time, so there was no way I was going. David and his brother got there so early before the show, they ended up running into the band members before the show started, and they got to talk to them for a while.
When we went to the meet and greet in SLC, the guitar player (Fabian) recognized David and said, "Hey! You're the guy from the Deuce!" It was pretty awesome that out of all the people they meet at all of their concerts, that he would recognize David. That totally made his night.
We got a picture with all the band members. David chatted with them for a couple minutes. They gave everybody who bought VIP passes a small poster of the band. I liked the colors on the poster and thought that maybe when I get around to decorating Kyler's room it might be a good decoration to put on his wall, so I asked Alejandro (the singer ... and multi instrument player) to sign it to all 3 of our kids. I think they'll like that when they get a little older. :)
I think we were probably one of the top ten oldest people at the concert, but it was a lot of fun. We were on the front row ... thanks to starving ourselves to get there early. ;) David screamed like a girl the whole time. It was pretty funny. He loves the guitar player, Fabian, and he kept yelling his name saying, "YEAH!!! FABIAN!!! WOO!!!" I think he might not have been used to hearing MEN scream his name, cause every time David would do that Fabian would break a smile. He gave David a guitar pic and the set list with all of the songs they played. It was pretty awesome!
It was an amazing concert!! Check out their music on youtube if you haven't already. :)

Totally Random
Yep. A whole post of totally random pics from the last several months. Enjoy!!
David met Eli Manning backstage at a "Get Motivated" event he went to for work.
Kyler is obsessed with shoes ... except he doesn't like to wear them on his feet. He always puts them on his hands and crawls around. Silly boy!
We had our friends, the Pews, come over for dinner, games, and smores. This is the only picture we took that night. Wish we had gotten more! It was lots of fun! You can't see it in this picture, but Kyler oozed marshmallow spit all over daddy's head. Good thing he has no hair! ;)
We went to Seven Peaks with David's family to celebrate his sister, Sherri's, birthday. These are the only 2 pictures we took that day. Kyler covered in Cheeto's cheese after lunch. It was tons of fun! I hadn't been there in years. We really need to do better at taking more pictures ...
Allyson came down stairs after insisting on getting herself ready all by herself for the day. She had put a post it on her clothes that read, "Allyson got ready all by myself". I'm really glad she put that disclaimer on there. haha ;) I really do think she did a pretty good job, though.
Soon after moving to our new house, our ward had a talent show. Our new friends, Janae and Doug Pew, and I played a few fiddle songs for it (Janae and I on the fiddle. Doug on the guitar). Janae is a violin/fiddle rock star. Allyson and I are now taking violin lessons from her. Kind of excited about that! Again ... the only picture that got taken that night. Ya, we ... COUGH, COUGH, David ...is really bad at pulling out that camera.
Got ice cream?
There are no real words for this picture. lol
... or this picture, either.
One of David's many claims to fame. Marrying me is one of them. ;) A personal letter written to him from Doug Conant, the former CEO of Campbell's Soup Company.
What?
You know you've failed as a mother for the day when you look across the dinner table and see THIS. At least she's happy!
Katelyn wearing her little brother's clothes ... and they fit!
Kyler leaving the nest ... I mean, riding a bike for the first time. Feels like he's leaving the nest, though! He's growing up way too fast. sniffle sniffle :'(
Homemade princess tiaras.
Katelyn put herself to sleep in Kyler's crib. I think she misses being the baby sometimes.
Real boys play dress up.
Sunday afternoon camera sillies. :)
Sometimes I make David or Allyson take a picture of me,just so we know that I was really there. I'm almost always the one behind the camera, otherwise we don't get many pictures. :)
